Ex-Councilman To Run For Judge

SEATTLE - Jim Street, who served 12 years on the Seattle City Council before resigning in January, wants back into public service - this time as a King County Superior Court judge.

Street, 53, says he will file for election to Position 22, the seat being vacated by Judge Mary Brucker, who is retiring. There is no indication yet whether he will have competition. The one-week filing period begins July 22.

Street has had no judicial experience, but graduated first in his class from the University of Puget Sound Law School and was a partner in an area law firm before joining the City Council.
