`Murder' Mystery Solved: Mendocino Is Cabot Cove

Q: Having watched "Murder, She Wrote" for many years, I have been fascinated with the scenic Cabot Cove locale and would like to visit the area. Will you kindly set my mind at ease and divulge the location of the real Cabot Cove?

A: Exterior shots of the fictional Cabot Cove were filmed in Mendocino, Calif. Interior scenes were shot at Universal Studios in Los Angeles. The long-running mystery series signed off May 19 after 12 years on the air. But look for Angela Lansbury to return as Jessica Fletcher in two-hour "Murder, She Wrote" TV movies.

Q: When will the "Dallas" reunion show be broadcast on television? Will all of the original cast be on this special?

A: The "Dallas" reunion movie will be seen on CBS sometime this fall. Among the cast members returning to Southfork Ranch are Larry Hagman (J.R. Ewing), Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing), Linda Gray (Sue Ellen Ewing), Ken Kercheval (Cliff Barnes), George Kennedy (Carter McKay) and Omri Katz (John Ross Ewing III).

Q: What is Bonnie Franklin, formerly of "One Day at a Time," doing these days?

A: The last Bonnie Franklin sighting was on an April episode of "Almost Perfect."

Q: I just finished watching "No One Would Tell" with Fred Savage. How long has Savage been on TV and what is he doing now? How old is he? I'm glad to see him back on TV.

A: The former "Wonder Years" star is a 19-year-old college student now. He made "No One Would Tell" during a semester break and says he intends to finish school before considering a return to full-time acting. "The Wonder Years" was on ABC from March 1988 through September 1993.

Q: Who plays Fran Drescher's mother on "The Nanny"? I have been told it is her real mother.

A: That's comedian/actress/writer Renee Taylor as the long-suffering Sylvia Fine. Taylor and husband Joseph Bologna co-wrote the play "Lovers and Other Strangers," which was also produced as a motion picture and TV series. She's not Drescher's mother.
