Dart-Throwing, Pint-Pouring Oregonian Wins An Irish Pub
DUBLIN - She can pour a perfect pint, throw a true dart and show she has the gift of gab.
Such skills won Shann Weston, of Portland, an Irish pub. Yesterday, she pocketed the keys to The Seanachaoi (pronounced Shan-a-key), at Killaloe, near the city of Limerick in western Ireland.
"I feel on top of the world," she said, after winning Guinness Brewing Worldwide Ltd.'s "Win Your Own Pub" contest.
Weston, 45, an educator for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, was among 10 finalists whose 50-word essays earned them a week in Ireland and the chance to compete for The Seanachaoi, which means "storyteller" in Gaelic.
The finalists were culled from more than 55,000 U.S. entries.
