Supreme Court -- Bob Marley's Estate Wins $6 Million Suit

WASHINGTON - Justices let stand a $6 million judgment against the late reggae star Bob Marley's lawyer and accountant, found by a jury to have plundered his estate.

The court, without comment, turned down the two men's arguments that the Marley estate sued them too late.

Marley, a Jamaican singer and songwriter who popularized reggae music during the 1970s, died in 1981 of brain cancer. He was survived by his wife, Rita, and 11 children.

Marley's lawyer, David Steinberg of Bala Cynwyd, Pa., his accountant, Marvin Zolt of New York, and Rita Marley were accused of using forged documents to divert $13.4 million from the estate.
