Nordstrom's First Store In Texas To Open Tomorrow

DALLAS - Nordstrom will open its first store in Texas tomorrow, a 225,000-square-foot space in the Dallas Galleria.

"There is not a better market in the country for shopping," said Darrel Hume, general manager of the Dallas Nordstrom. "That consumerism - this is the place to be."

The store is the first in the South for Nordstrom, which since 1988 has expanded from the West Coast to Washington, D.C., New York, Chicago and Minneapolis. The Seattle-based retailer now has 80 stores in 16 states.
