Man Charged With Killing Teen

SEATTLE - Beau J. Currier, an 18-year-old South King County man, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the July shooting death of a Federal Way girl.

Nicole DeBoer, 16, was found dead in a shallow pond behind her apartment complex July 8. She had been shot in the head as many as five times.

Currier was charged yesterday.

Prosecutors believe he used a .22-caliber rifle stolen from his grandmother and then destroyed it.

Charges state that Currier lived in the same apartment complex at the time and used to date DeBoer. Prosecutors did not discuss a possible motive.

He is being held in the King County Jail on $500,000 bail.
