Girls
Bothell Cougars
1994-95 record - 4-2 in division (second), 11-4 KingCo, 19-10 overall (KingCo runner-up, Wes-King bi-district runner-up, state qualifier).
Head coach - Terry Galloway, seventh season.
Top returning players - P Sara Raynor (6-3, sr.), W Jen Babin (5-9, jr.), PG Sarece Butler (5-6, sr.), P Brenda Fitzer (6-1, sr.), W Karina Kelley (5-6, sr.), W Tiana Anthony (5-8, jr.).
Top newcomers - PG Becki Ashbaugh (5-5, so.; transfer from Bellevue), P Nicole McCain (5-10, so.), W Kelli Tuttle (5-6, so.), W Jannae Krell (5-9, so.).
Outlook - Could be Bothell's best team yet, even with loss of 5-11 Sara Nichols (disciplinary suspension). Raynor already has signed with San Francisco, Babin is rated by some as top player in state at her position, Ashbaugh brings 16.4 ppg to her new team, and Krell looks as promising as her All-KingCo sister, Nicole ('95 graduate). Will challenge Lake Washington for division title and should make second straight state playoff appearance.
Inglemoor Vikings
1994-95 record - 5-1 in division (first), 11-4 KingCo, 16-10 overall (eliminated in winner-to-state, loser-out district game).
Head coach - Tom Bishop, first season.
Top returning players - G Rose Connely (5-4, sr.), G Serene Smart (5-10, sr.), F Lisa McConnachie (5-8, sr.), C Cameo Webster (6-1, sr.).
Top newcomers - C Cori Enghusen (6-7, so.), F Alicia Porterfield (6-0, so.).
Outlook - That's not a misprint after Enghusen's name. The 6-7 sophomore is the most talked-about KingCo newcomer in recent memory. Adding her to a mix that includes another 6-footer in the post and an exciting playmaker such as Connely make Vikings a division contender despite first-year system.
Woodinville Falcons
1994-95 record - 4-4 in division (third), 8-8 KingCo, 10-12 overall (eliminated in KingCo tournament).
Head coach - Karen Bryant, third season (23-25).
Top returning players - G Mandy Cobrea (5-6, sr.), F Janelle Nagel (5-8, sr.), G Danielle Rabin (5-8, sr.), F Jaime Thompson (5-8, sr.).
Top newcomers - P Amy Rogers (5-11, jr.), F Dana French (5-7, jr.), F Nikki Gerken (5-8, so.).
Outlook - Falcons have experience (six seniors), quickness and solid defense. But lack of size and graduation losses of top two scorers make this a rebuilding year for team that is long shot for playoff berth.
Boys
Bothell Cougars
1994-95 record - 4-11 in KingCo (tied for last in Div. I), 7-14 overall.
Head coach - Ron Bollinger, first season.
Top returning players - F Jeff Land (6-3, sr.), G Todd Roach (6-1, sr.), F Brian Trofholtz (6-2, jr.), G Rod Westman (6-0, sr.), F Jeff Nelson (6-5, jr.).
Top newcomers - F Josh Karp (6-4, so.).
Outlook - Cougars lack size, quickness, a true point guard and a true center. Good shooters among four returning starters and what seems to be KingCo's most forgiving division should help, but looks like rough homecoming for Bothell grad Bollinger.
Inglemoor Vikings
1994-95 record - 6-9 in KingCo (3rd in Div. II), 7-15 overall (qualified for KingCo tourney).
Head coach - Greg Lowell, eighth season (79-86)
Top returning players - G Steve DeVoe (6-1, jr.), G Al Minahan (6-3, jr.), F Ryan Wilkerson (6-2, sr.), F Justin Stolmeier (6-3, jr.), C Jim Bush (6-8, sr.), G Chris Perkins (6-3, sr.), C Obinna Acholonu (6-3, jr.).
Top newcomers - F Kevin Bynum (6-5, so.), F Matt Uffens (6-4, so.), F Jeff Pohl (6-4, jr.), G Craig Wenaweser ((6-2, jr.).
Outlook - Vikings return all but two varsity players from last season, including three of top four scorers. They'll need it all in a division with what many believe are the top two KingCo teams (Redmond, Mercer Island). Still, Vikings should return to Wes-King tournament after two-year absence.
Woodinville Falcons
1994-95 record - 7-9 in KingCo (3rd in Div. III), 8-15 overall (7th KingCo, Wes-King qualifier).
Head coach - Joe Meagher, fourth season (27-42).
Top returning players - G Tim Burrows (5-8, sr.), G Jeremy Harris (6-0, sr.), F Sean Brix (6-2, sr.), F Marques Tuiasosopo (6-2, jr.), P Steve Coram (7-0, sr.), F Curt Mason (6-5, sr.).
Top newcomers - G Jesse Barham (6-2, so.), F Aaron Brown (6-5, so.), F Danny Kidd (6-3, sr.), F Josh Gaulke (6-2, sr.), G Dave Sanders (6-0, sr.).
Outlook - Most experienced depth of talent in division. Four who started at least part-time are back, including one of best all-around athletes in conference (Tuiasosopo) and tallest player in league (Coram, who still is working on strength). Will give Eastlake, Issaquah battle for division title.
