Leavenworth Man, 33, Killed In Edmonds Train Accident

EDMONDS - A 33-year-old Leavenworth man who died in a train accident near the city's Amtrak station Friday night has been identified as Brick D. Allen, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office.

Allen was walking with two friends on the west side of the Amtrak station, in the 200 block of Railroad Avenue, at 7:51 p.m. when a northbound freight train came through, Edmonds police said.

Allen and his friends crossed to the east side of the tracks, and Allen started running beside the train, apparently trying to jump on board, police said.

He apparently got a hand hold but lost his grip and fell beneath the train, said a spokesman for the medical examiner's office. He died at the scene of massive trauma.

Engineers aboard the train were not aware of the accident and continued through town without stopping, police said.
