Boy And Woman Die In Collision
LA PINE, Ore. - A 13-year-old boy running from the law vowed he wouldn't be taken alive, then steered his mother's car into the path of a retired teacher on her way to help her pregnant daughter, according to police.
Police are looking into whether Michael Sandoval of Meridian, Idaho, deliberately caused the crash that killed him and Sharon Eitzer, 59, of Roseburg, Ore. A 14-year-old friend, Michael Coen, told investigators Sandoval had told him he wouldn't be taken alive.
Facing a juvenile-court hearing for bringing an unloaded handgun to school, Sandoval took his mother's car and headed for California, talking his friend into coming along.
