O.J. Simpson -- Money Makes The Difference

Contrary to the professed beliefs of the mass media and the "race baiting for profit" crowd, the O.J. Simpson verdict has nothing to do with race and everything to do with color. The color green. The color of money.

From Adam Clayton Powell (black), Ted Kennedy, Robert Kennedy Smith (lily white), to other sundry and assorted acquitted defendants of all races, nationalities, ethnic backgrounds and religions, one hard truth emerges about this country's judicial system - money, fame and power make some people much more equal in the eyes of the law than others.

Unfortunately, the establishment is more comfortable assigning this disparity of justice to "historic racial prejudice" than admitting the obvious: that any poor working slob of any race would be on death row if he were in O.J.'s shoes without the benefit of O.J.'s bank account and celebrity. This Barnum and Bailey, made for TV, better than "All My Children" soap opera trial and verdict has nothing to do with racial discrimination or reverse racial discrimination.

It has to do with the core of our judicial system, "equal justice under the law." Apparently, however, if you can pay five of this nation's finest attorneys to defend you - if you can afford the very best trial psychologist to evaluate potential jurors - you're gonna walk. Black or white. If you don't have the cash for these legal top guns, then don't do the crime or be ready to do the time. Black or white, blue or purple. So much for "justice for all." Nicholas J.
