Unicef Seeks Christmas Card Art

Youngsters 13 and under have a chance to design a Christmas card sold around the world asby entering the fourth annual UNICEF "Kids Help Kids" greeting-card contest.

This year's theme is "We are different; we are the same," according to the United Nations Children's Fund, which raised $10 million in the U.S. last year.

"Entrants are asked to design a card showing that all children need the same things - access to health care, clean water and education - to survive and grow," said Ingrid Acevedo of the U.S. Committee for UNICEF.

The two winners - one for ages 8 to 13, another for age 7 and under - will see their cards reproduced among the agency's dozens of offerings from around the world.

Entry forms are available locally at Pier 1 Imports stores, one of the sponsors.
