5 Teens Charged In Homicide

PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. - Five teenagers have been charged with beating an American fisherman to death.

They were charged Saturday with second-degree murder in the killing of Trygue Robert Magnusson, 34, a fisherman from Point Roberts, Whatcom County.

The youths allegedly attacked and battered the 6-foot-7, 300-pound Magnusson to steal a small amount of cash he was carrying, police said.

Two of the suspects are 16, one is 14, and the others 13.

Magnusson's body was found in a ditch. He was walking from a bar to his fishing boat when the attack occurred.
