Five Men Charged With Selling Heroin

SEATTLE - Five men, three from Seattle and two from California, have been charged with attempting to distribute two kilograms of heroin.

The men were arrested June 7 after selling one kilogram to federal agents for $140,000 in the parking lot of a Southcenter restaurant, according to court documents. Two of the men flushed another kilogram down a toilet as agents entered their South Seattle hotel room.

Fuchuan Saechao, 47, and Foomanh Saephanh, 35, of California, and San Nai Saephan, 23, Nai Chiew Saechao, 18, and Kao Nai Saefong, 19, of Seattle, were arraigned yesterday in U.S. District Court. All five face charges of conspiracy to distribute heroin. Some also face distribution and weapons charges in connection with the sale.

All five pleaded not guilty to the charges. A trial has been set for Sept. 5.
