Girl Found Dead In Fed. Way Pond

FEDERAL WAY - The last time 16-year-old Nicole Deboer apparently was seen alive was at a weekend party with young people gathered at the apartment complex where she lived.

Held at the Parkway Apartments at 2401 Southwest 334th St., the party began at about 11 p.m. Friday and broke up between 2 and 3 a.m.

Twelve hours later, a maintenance worker looking for water to put out a small fire found Deboer's body in a pond at the apartments.

The teenager had been shot several times.

This morning, King County Police were searching for a suspect and a motive in Deboer's death. It is being investigated as a homicide.

Police today planned to interview those who attended the party and Deboer's friends and family, said Jerrell Wills, police spokesman.

Divers yesterday searched the pond for evidence. Police would not say if anything was found.

Deboer lived at the apartment complex with her mother.

A neighbor, Glenda Banks, said Deboer had written poems about dying and that the teen had written a poem the night before she

died.
