Prep Baseball -- Seamount Stars To Face Metro League

Pitchers Tyler Willis and Adam Huxhold, who led Lindbergh High School to a second consecutive Class AA state baseball championship, head the Seamount League contingent in tomorrow's all-state feeder games against the Metro League at Liberty High School.

The two eight-inning games feature the senior all-stars from both leagues. The first game begins at 11 a.m.

Coaches will select the top players, based on the feeder games and regular-season performances, to nominate for the all-state series next weekend in East Wenatchee.

Willis and Huxhold shared most valuable player honors in the Seamount League with Kennedy outfielder Freddie May, who also is expected to play. Four other Lindbergh players were chosen - Barry Talkington (third base), Cory Coate (second base), Ken Blankenship (catcher) and Eric Olsen (outfield). Lindbergh Coach Craig Wrolstad, who will coach the Seamount all-stars, said all but Coate will play. Huxhold also was picked as an outfielder.

The Metro League cast is led by Ballard shortstop Kevin Miller, a University of Washington signee who was selected in the seventh round by the Baltimore Orioles in yesterday's amateur draft.

Kennedy's May was drafted in the ninth round yesterday by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
