Teen Buried In Garbage Dies
COQUITLAM, B.C. - A teenager buried in a pile of garbage was pulled out alive, only to die later in a hospital.
The coroner's office and the Workers' Compensation Board are investigating the death of 16-year-old Luke McIvor.
The teen was two weeks into a summer job at Wastech Services Ltd. He was helping move trash inside the company's huge processing plant Saturday when other workers, including Luke's father who also works at the plant, noticed the boy was missing. They began digging frantically through the trash for him.
His father found him, and the teen was rushed to hospital, where he died a short time later.
