Seen, Heard, Said
You've probably been riveted to your TV set during those Cindy Williams-Bill Hudson commercials for pet food. And you've probably said to yourself, "Bill Hudson. Wasn't he one of the Hudson Brothers?" Yup. Bill was one-third of the pop trio that had a TV series for a whole month in 1974 but hasn't been too visible since. Until now. Oddly Bill's brother Mark also has been more high-profile lately, but not in a positive light. According to Rolling Stone, Mark, a top producer at Hollywood Records who also has written songs for folks such as Alice Cooper and Aerosmith, was fired from his job last month for harassing female employees. He reportedly was compelled to have counseling last summer after several complaints were filed. Rolling Stone says the last straw came when Seconds mag printed an interview with singer/songwriter Danielle Brisebois, who accused Hudson of "engaging in provocative behavior" while she played him a demo several years ago.
You may have heard the rumors that O.J. prosecutor Marcia Clark and Sally Field's ex, Alan Greisman, are a thing. Not true, says Marcia's lawyer: They "are acquaintances," according to Mark Fleischer. "They are not dating."
We told you about director Kevin Reynolds' jumping ship from Kevin Costner's beleaguered $175 million fiasco, "Waterworld." At the time neither had a comment. But now Kevin R. is talking about Kevin C. in the June issue of US mag: He says the actor is "making up imaginary enemies" and that "his worst enemy right now is himself."
By the way, Hollywood folk - always quick to smell a disaster in the making - have been coming up with alternate titles for "Waterworld": "Fishtar," "Dances With Fishes," "Kevin's Gate" and "Heaven's Bait." Ooooh. Mean.
Madonna, whose name briefly - only briefly - was not in the news, is busy remedying that situation. -- First she switched talent agencies twice in six weeks - hopping from Creative Artists Agency to William Morris to International Creative Management. Insiders say she's trying to jump-start a stalled career. "Bedtime Story" was her first single not to make the Top 40 after 32 straight hits. Half of her 10 movies bombed and there's still no shooting date for the long-delayed "Evita." -- She's also made a newsworthy donation, a classic Mercedes-Benz convertible to be sold at auction to help the Philadelphia Museum of Art honor the works of the photographer Tina Modotti, an activist who became known for her photos of Mexican workers and women in the 1930s and '40s. (She died in 1942.) -- And we have more information about her relationship with roundball star Dennis Rodman. We already told you Dennis' explanation of his affair to his mother: "She has $250 million, Mama." But there's more to be said and Dennis' Spurs buddy Jack Haley is saying it, in the new People and in the Orange County Register: "She told me she wanted to have Dennis' baby. I said, `Why would you ever want to have this man's baby?' She said because he was the perfect physical specimen. I said, `Yeah, but what about the mental side?'
