Enumclaw Couple Claim Lotto Jackpot

SEATTLE - A winner for last Saturday's $8 million Lotto jackpot was announced yesterday. Brian Bremmeyer, 47, of Enumclaw didn't contact lottery officials until Wednesday, lottery spokesman Richard Paulson said.

The independent road-construction contractor joked that "these things take time," when asked why he waited so long. Bremmeyer's wife, Ann, said even she didn't know about the win until Wednesday.

Bremmeyer said that he and his wife, a third-grade schoolteacher, may do some traveling, but that the new-found wealth will not change their lives much.

He bought the winning ticket at an Enumclaw convenience store. The numbers, 7, 16, 21, 31, 32 and 49, were chosen by computer.

The Bremmeyers will receive $288,000 annually for the next 20 years.

Saturday's Lotto and Quinto jackpots will be worth $2 million and $200,000, respectively, because there were no winners Wednesday.
