Kodiak Fish-Processing Plant To Be Bought By Tyson Foods

SPRINGDALE, Ark.- Tyson Foods Inc., which owns the former Arctic Alaska Seafoods of Seattle, has agreed to buy the Star of Kodiak fish-processing plant in Kodiak, Alaska, from All Alaskan Seafoods Inc.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The agreement also includes All Alaskan's 22 percent interest in a fish-meal plant under construction in Kodiak.

"We look forward to increasing our presence onshore in Alaska," said Roy Brown, senior vice president of the company's seafood group. The plant employs about 300 people when in full production processing salmon, herring, pollack and cod caught in the Gulf of
