Alderwood Mall Announces Renovation, Food Court Plans
LYNNWOOD - Alderwood Mall will begin construction later this month on a $9 million to $11 million renovation and expansion that will add about 30 stores and push the shopping center to more than 1 million square feet when completed for the 1995 holiday season.
The mall, the third-largest in the region, plans to add 68,000 square feet - a relatively small figure compared with other recent renovations in the Seattle area.
The expansion will include a 600-seat food court with a full-service restaurant and 10 other national chain restaurants. The mall also plans to add 500 parking spaces and to update the center-court decor. The mall is to remain open during the renovation.
Alderwood Mall, built in 1979, is owned by Acquiport Seven Inc., a Delaware-based pension fund.
