"Judy's TenKey" is a calculator utility for Windows that does everything a calculator should do and lots a traditional one can't - at a price and usability that are outstanding.
On-screen calculators have been around since there were PCs, but they tended to be afterthoughts hooked up to other software. If you needed a financial calculator, or one that ran a tape, or a scientific calculator, the best bet was to buy one. Which often meant seeing someone carrying a $2,000 laptop computer haul out an adding machine to enter a long list of figures.
"Judy's TenKey" allows you to configure the calculator to suit your needs - adding machine or standard calculator, for instance.
The software allows you to do things that ordinary calculators and adding machines can't. For example, on an adding machine if you leave out a number or miskey a number, it's back to square one. "Judy's TenKey" scrolls the tape in a window you can edit. So you can fix numbers and watch the calculations change. You can also save the tapes as files and print them or portions of them.
And you can copy and paste the numbers into other Windows applications.
Other features include trigonometric calculations and dialogue boxes that let you explore mortgages, retirement plans, investments and such. And in case you're on the cutting edge and wonder about Windows NT, or Windows for Workgroups compatibility, the software comes in both 16- and 32-bit versions.
Installation is idiot-proof, and the software comes on a single hot-pink disk.
