Boys Basketball -- Migula's Shooting Gives Lift To Sealth
Pawel Migula tossed in six three-point baskets as Chief Sealth held off visiting Meadowdale 81-70 in a nonleague high school boys basketball game last night.
Migula, a junior swingman, accounted for all but two of his 20 points on shots from beyond the arc for the Seahawks (2-3).
Meadowdale (1-7) had its own long-distance scorer in Bryant Hamman, who also made six three-point shots. Hamman scored 26 points, 23 in the second half.
Center Romaine Smith scored eight of his 15 points as Chief Sealth raced to a 18-7 first quarter-lead. Jim Thurston added 14 points, Jimmie Rainwater 13 and guard Mike Griffin nine points and eight assists for the Seahawks.
Jim Mayo added 16 points and Matt Wieber 10 for Meadowdale.

The U.S. swept to an 8-0 victory over the Canadians in the boys portion of the three-day tournament.
Vashon 72, Lambrick Park (Victoria, B.C.) 60 - Nathan Clarke scored 20 points and Ryder Farrell hit for 13 as Vashon completed a three-game sweep at the Can-Am Challenge.
North Kitsap 84, Parkland (Victoria, B.C.) 33 - Aaron Olson scored 20 points and Scott Hertz added 17 as the Vikings of the Class AA Olympic League completed a two-game sweep at the Can-Am Challenge.
At Walla Walla 71, Kentridge 57 - The Chargers dropped their opening game of the Walla Walla tournament as 6-foot guard Andrew Billingsley dropped in 28 points for the Blue Devils (1-3). Kentridge (2-4), which received 17 points and six rebounds from Marcus Tellefson and 12 points from Mat Elleby, plays Hermiston, Ore., tonight.
Lake Washington 69, at Bellevue 55 - John Storbeck, a 6-foot-5 senior transfer from Redmond, scored a game-high 23 points as eight-ranked Lake Washington (2-1, 3-1) won the KingCo Conference game. Washington-bound Donald Watts scored 17 points, grabbed nine rebounds and also passed for six assists, and Idaho-bound 7-footer David Sturing scored 19 points for the Kangaroos.
