CD-Rom -- ''The Rabbits At Home''

"THE RABBITS AT HOME"

REED INTERACTIVE (800) 922-9204 Windows, Macintosh $59.95

"The Rabbits at Home," a new CD-ROM learning program for children ages 3 to 6, is a delightful introduction into the world of Rags, Rosie and Roly, offspring of Mr. and Mrs. Rabbit, who help youngsters learn everything from their ABCs to how to fill a sink.

Click on a time of day, and children are transported to different areas of the Rabbit world. At 7 a.m. you find them snoring peacefully in bed. It's your children's job to wake the Rabbit kids up (what sweet irony), and they're given prompts that lead young fingers to the alarm clock. Then it's a matter of brushing teeth, figuring out what the hot and cold water faucets do, and dressing the little Rabbit children appropriately. (Hint: They like the grunge look.)

There's no need to know how to read, since a friendly narrator (adult or young rabbit) gently prods kids to click on the next logical area.

As the day progresses (and your kids are in charge of that!), they'll learn how to tell time, read and count. The lessons are subtle, and kids get a lot of chances to make the right choices, whether it's at the breakfast table or trying to figure out which faucet governs which hose.

The CD-ROM is accompanied by four books: "The Rabbit Family ABC, 123, Read to Me and Find and Say," with suitable large print. The books complement the CD-ROM.
