Sea Division
Highline Pirates
Coach - Dave Hayashi, fourth year.
1993 record - 5-6-2, 20 points league (fourth).
Key returnees - Jeana Faccone, F, Sr.; Dzintra Zamelis, MF, Sr.; Jenny Hagan, MF, Sr.; Erin Becker, GK, Jr.; Lydia Counter, GK, Jr.; Taya Addison, MF, Jr.; Alitha Molner, MF, Jr.; Heidi Simmons, D, Jr.; Jocelyn Feil, D, So.; Tatum Slyning, MF, So.
Key newcomers - Heather Thesenvitz, D, So.; Danielle Ramsey, F, So.; Jamie Sawyer, D, Fr.; Jamie Clark, MF, Fr.
Outlook - If the Pirates find the right chemistry to go with their more-than-adequate skills, they could be the most improved team in the division. They are still young, but will miss sophomore defender Heather Mades (out for the season with an injury). Strong scoring potential.
Kennedy Lancers
Coach - Doug Stamnes, 11th year.
1993 record - 9-2-2, 35 points league (third).
Key returnees - Michelle French, MF, Sr.; Jennifer Lewis, MF/F, Sr.; Mariah Kmitta, GK, Sr.; Alicia Phillips, GK, Sr.; Donna Bergman, D, Sr.; Sarah Zielinski, MF, Sr.; Melissa Budde, F, Sr.; Lea Carger, MF, Jr.; Kari Maxwell, D, Jr.; Polly Schadeburg, MF/D, Jr.; Robyn Perkins, MF, Jr.; Erin Dacy, D, Jr.
Key newcomers - Kelly O'Neil, MF, Jr.; Jessica Bruce, F, Jr.; Michole Jacobsen, D, Jr.; Prsche Austin, F, So.; Amanda Shellenberger, F, So.; Carrie Chidsey, F, So.; Laura Chase, D, So.
Outlook - After a rare absence from the playoffs in 1993, the Lancers are expected to rebound with a vengeance this season and are generally considered the best team in the league. French is a three-year all-league choice and Lewis a two-year selection. A rebuilt defense is the only question mark.
Liberty Patriots
Coach - Lani Chandler, sixth year.
1993 record - 10-2-1, 37 points league (second); beat Tyee and Mount Rainier in Seamount tournament; beat Seattle Prep in first round of state playoffs; lost to Shorecrest in quarterfinals.
Key returnees - Karen Hardy, F/GK, Sr.; Emma Owings, MF/D, Sr.; Lisa Newell, D, Sr.; Larae Myre, F/MF, Sr.; Katherine Johnson, MF/D, So.; Kama Jameson, MF/F, So.
Key newcomers - Heather Przybylski, GK, Jr.; Sarah Bruce, GK/MF, Jr.; Kelly Sandvigen, MF, Jr.; Amy Donlan, D, Jr.; Genny Stevens, D, So.; Kelly Meeks, MF, Fr.; Rennie Elwell, D, Fr., Jessica Newell, MF/F, Fr.
Outlook - Hardy hopes to lead the Patriots back to the state playoffs, but they have a few key holes to fill to get there. Their defense is new and passing skills on offense need fine tuning. Watch for Newell to make an impact.
MOUNT RAINIER RAMS
Coach - Barb Dorn, third year.
1993 record - 11-1-1, 41 points league (first); lost to Hazen and Liberty in Seamount tournament.
Key returnees - Beth Ransom, MF, Sr.; Ronda Woodward, MF/F, Sr.; Melissa Woolsey, F, Sr.; Janelle Andreson, F, Jr.; Keri Colello, MF, Jr.; Leslie Upchurch, D, Jr.; Ganesa Cobb, MF, So.; Emily Colgan, D, So.; Carrie Geraghty, GK, So.; Rachelle Vermeire, F, So.
Key newcomers - Darcy Johnson, MF, Jr.; Sharmmila Kotelawala, MF, Jr.; Monica Sagisi, D, Jr.; Jessica Lemmon, MF, Fr.; Angie Upchurch, D, Fr.; Vickie Upchurch, D, Fr.
Outlook - Only four fulltime starters return from last year's division championship team, so it appears the Rams will be hard pressed to repeat. This year's team is young, but still skilled and should finish strong with steady improvement.
Renton Indians
Coach - Janet Wheeler, second year.
1993 record - 0-13-0, 0 points league (fifth).
Key returnees - Angie Rolstad, D, Sr.; Kim Deitz, F, Sr.; Nicky Nelson, F/MF, Sr.; Sharon Kershner, MF, Sr.; Deanna Berndsen, D, Jr.; Cory Randles, MF, Jr.; Kim Spencer, D, Jr.; Jennifer Talbert, D, Jr.; Jeanette Richard, MF, So.; Toneika Johnston, MF/D, So.
Key newcomers - Roberta Barban, F, Sr.; Emily Yates, MF, Fr.
Outlook - Nearly everyone from last year's team returns and the Indians are expected to show improvement. They recently won their first match in four years, which should give them a big boost heading into the league season, and showed some offensive punch.
Mountain Division
Evergreen Wolverines
Coach - Joseph Castelluccio, third year.
1993 record - 1-9-3, 9 points league (fifth).
Key returnees - Ami McLelland, Sr., GK; Stacey Davies, D, Sr.; Anna Olivas, MF, Sr.; Rachael Little, GK, Jr.; Melissa Gladstone, D, Jr.; Veronica Arrants, D, Jr.; Rebecca Traynor, D, Jr.; Kelly Lynch, MF, Jr.; Stephanie Nelson, MF, Jr.; Sara Hanes, F, Jr.; Catherine Flynn, D, So.; Jessica Eronemo, MF, So.; Carrie Bellack, MF, So.; Ciaira Shepard, F, So.
Key newcomers - Marka Guest, D, Fr.; Charice Tallant, D, Jr.; Lisa Swim, MF/F, Jr.; Jember Woldeab, MF, So.; Shannon Baker, MF, So.; Linda Pickles, D, Fr.; StacyAnn McGlynn, F/MF/D, Fr.; Marci Powers, MF/D, Fr.
Outlook - Look for some young faces in the Evergreen lineup. The Wolverines showed some improvement last year and should be a notch better this fall. They were picked to finish as high as second in the division by a couple of coaches. They should make their strongest run next year.
Hazen Highlanders

Outlook - Four to six freshmen will start for the Highlanders, but they're still favored to repeat as division champions. Four seniors starters return from last year's quarterfinal team. Rider expects his club to hit full stride by midseason.
Lindbergh Eagles
Coach - Barbara Bruecher, second year.
1993 record - 2-8-3, 13 points league (third).
Key returnees - Danielle Ralph, GK, Jr.; Marie Vasquez, D, Jr.; Missy Hanson, F, So.; Linda Stark, F, So.
Key newcomers - Lacy Charles, D, Jr.; Sofie Pamboukas, F, So.; Sarah Brown, GK/D, So.; Robin Schram, D, So.; Linsey Sherman, MF, Fr.; Leah Paddock, MF, Fr.; Emily Gates, MF, Fr.; Jennifer Reid, D, Mr.; Rachel Petersen, D, Fr.; Heather Schmidt, D, Fr.; Margaret Mead, D, Fr.
Outlook - If the Eagles don't push for a playoff spot this season - and there are those who think they will - watch out for next year and the year after. There are no seniors on the team and just three juniors. Led by Ralph, look for them to come on strong toward the end of the season.
Mount Si Wildcats
Coach - Bruce Caldwell, fifth year.
1993 record - 2-9-2, 11 points league (fourth).
Key returnees - Alison Johnson, MF, Sr.; Connie Sim, MF, Sr.; Julie Engen, MF, Jr.; Kelly Stubbert, D, Jr.; Angie Tuttle, D, Jr.; Staci Guantlett, MF, Jr.; Sally Hayden, D, Jr.; Jonna Oliveres, MF, So.; Sarah Lamon, MF/D, So.; Libbey Farr, MF/F, So.; Amy Anderson, Fr, So.
Key newcomers - Katie Ervine, MF/D, Jr.; Jeunai Hampton, MF, So.; Sarah Lavalle, F, Fr.; Beth Childs, F, Fr.; Lindsey Jorgensen, GK, Fr.; Danielle Blue, MF, Fr.
Outlook - Younger than last year, but perhaps a bit more talented, the Wildcats hope to make their presence felt in the division, especially in close games. Their defense and midfield look strong, but they are untested up front.
Tyee Totems
Coach - Todd Veenhuizen, second year.
1993 record - 8-4-1, 31 points league (second); lost to Liberty in Seamount tournament.
Key returnees - Sue Stroppa, D, Sr.; Joleen Holmes, D, Jr.; Jessica Morgan, MF, Jr.; Diana Ruggiero, MF, Jr.; Lisa Rary, F, Jr.; Brooke Englin, F, Jr.; Shannon Van Liew, GK, So.; Brooke Callen, MF/F, So.; Jamie Mummert, F/D, So.; Michelle Sipes, F, So.; Angela Ruggiero, D, So.
Key newcomers - Jaymie Forsberg, MF, Sr.; Rhonda Adams, MF, Jr.; Vicki Szyperski, GK, Jr.; Melanie Nicholas, MF, So.; Beth Johnson, MF, So.; Jeana Forsberg, D, Fr.; Jill Knutson, D, Fr.
Outlook - The Totems are expected to challenge Hazen for the division title. They are a young team, but have some experience. Veenhuizen is looking for a couple of them to step up and become impact players.
