Three Killed In 2-Car Crash

DEER PARK, Spokane County - Three people died and four were injured in a two-car collision yesterday north of Spokane, the Washington State Patrol said.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Deer Park-Milan and Cedar roads when a pickup truck driven by James L. Adams, 16, of Spokane, collided with a van driven by David L. Ostreicher, 39, of Spokane, State Patrol dispatcher Susan Spencer said.

Adams died 2 1/2 hours later at Deaconess Medical Center, Spencer said.

One of his passengers, Kim M. Jenson, 37, of Newman Lake, died at the scene, Spencer said.

Ostreicher's wife, Pamela, 32, also died at the scene, Spencer said. David Ostreicher was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center, where a condition report was not immediately available.

Four other passengers in Adams' pickup were hurt: Kim Jenson's 4-year-old daughter, Jennifer, was in stable condition at Holy Family Hospital; Noah L. Baker, 11, of Chattaroy, was serious condition at Deaconess Medical Center; and Babe J. Baker, 14, also of Chattaroy, was in critical condition at Holy Family, nursing supervisors said.
