Pepper Schwartz -- What's In A Size?
Reporter Carey Quan Gelernter refers to Art Skolnik as Pepper Schwartz's husband several times. Why not omit "and her husband" from each reference? I know that it's a subtle dig at men who introduce women as their wives, implying possession not equality, but it seems more petty then progressive.
And what does the height of the nanny have to do with his ability? Men can be as sensitive about their height as women are about their weight. If the nanny was a female it would not be appropriate to list her weight or height.
And if Mr. Skolnik's first marriage failed because his wife did not bring in an equal income (this is the only reason cited in the article), which made her feel unequal as a person, I sincerely hope the book written by Schwartz does well.
