Houston Concert Postponed
LAS VEGAS - Singer Whitney Houston, troubled by a recurring throat problem, has been ordered by her doctors to reschedule eight dates on her summer concert tour.
Her Tacoma Dome show for next Monday has been postponed until Aug. 17. A Portland concert will now take place Aug. 16.
A press release from Arista Records said tickets that had been purchased for shows this month would be honored at the same venues next month. Refunds should be made at the place where tickets were purchased.
The release said Houston was warned by her doctors that to continue the tour would "cause irreparable damage to her voice."
Houston canceled a concert Saturday in Anaheim, but performed a short medley of songs Sunday at the World Cup soccer finals in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
At a recent concert in Atlanta, she brought singer-husband Bobby Brown on stage to announce she was pregnant with what would have been their second child.
Several days later she suffered a miscarriage.
