General Employment Service Purchases Manus Agency

SEATTLE - General Employment Service Inc., the area's oldest employment agency, established in 1945, has purchased Manus Temporary Services, which was started here in 1948 as H.E. Machenheimer Co.

The deal increases General Service's size to 34 employees from 23. No purchase price was disclosed.

Manus' offices in Bellevue and Seattle have been merged with General Service locations, but its Tukwila office will retain the Manus name under the new ownership. Manus Direct, another division of Manus Services Corp., was not purchased and will keep operating at its Rainier Avenue South location.
