Hobart Landfill To Close Thursday

HOBART - The King County Solid Waste Division reminds customers that the Hobart Landfill, 24041 276th Ave. S.E., will close Thursday.

The 33-acre landfill, used for more than 40 years, is near capacity.

Customers should consider alternative services, such as curbside collection. Recycling service has been added at the Renton Transfer Station, 3021 N.E. Fourth St., and a recyclables collection area has been expanded at the Enumclaw Transfer Station, 1650 Battersby Ave. E. to accept clean wood, yard waste and appliances.

Customers can also drop off newspaper, cardboard, mixed paper, glass jars and bottles, aluminum cans and foil, tin cans and some plastics at no charge.
