Microsoft Moving Workers From Vancouver To Redmond

VANCOUVER, B.C. - Microsoft Corp. is transferring most of the 85 workers at a Vancouver development lab to its headquarters in Redmond as of April 1.

"We expect up to 70 of the people to make the move," said Jacqueline Slemko, regional sales manager with Microsoft Canada Inc. "They will be the ones who take jobs at Redmond and are successful in getting visas."

Slemko said those who do not transfer will receive settlement packages.

Microsoft has had a development presence in Vancouver since 1991 when it took over locally based Consumer Software.
