7 Arrested In Slaying Of Teen

PORTLAND - Four men and three women have been arrested in the stabbing death of an 18-year-old man whose body was found in rural Washington County earlier this month, Oregon state police said.

State police believe the seven kidnapped Rory Dean Van Cleave, 18, and held him captive for at least a day before killing him, spokesman Lt. Bernie Giusto said.

Van Cleave's body was found Dec. 8 along a seldom-used logging road about eight miles from Hagg Lake by an employee of a timber company. He had been stabbed in the heart.

Giusto said the motive appears to have been a dispute over some "contraband" that Van Cleave's attackers though he had stolen from them.
