Ex-Wife Guilty In Murder Try
SPOKANE - Michelle Wallingford, 25, has been convicted of trying to have her former husband killed by hiring a man to toss a Molotov cocktail into an apartment.
A Spokane County Superior Court jury convicted her earlier this week of single counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and attempted murder as an accomplice. Prosecutors said she persuaded an acquaintance, Keith Studd, 20, to toss the firebomb through a window of her former husband's apartment June 25, 1992.
Studd, of Spokane, faces identical charges. His trial will be in March.
The device failed to ignite, and the intended target, Michael Alstrom, was unhurt.
