The Courts -- King County Superior Court

King County Superior Court Convicted: Paul L. Sutton, 21, of first-degree murder for the revenge slaying of a young Seattle man who Sutton believed had helped police build a case against him.

Sutton, of Rainier Valley, is a gang member who killed Edgar Williams, April 9. Prosecutors say he blamed Williams, also a gang member, for a recent assault conviction. Deputy Prosecutor Michael Hogan says he will seek an exceptional sentence beyond 25 years.

The jury deliberated only a few hours before finding Sutton guilty.

Williams' body was found at North City Elementary School by a school janitor. He had been shot three times in the chest. Williams, 20, had been out of prison less than 12 hours before he was murdered.

Prosecutors said Sutton bragged to friends about how he intended to kill Williams when he was released.
