Redmond Leads Volleyball Selections -- Mustangs Land Three Players On First Team
KingCo conference champion Redmond placed three players on the KingCo all-opponent volleyball first team.
Setter Sara Gaugl and outside hitters Kelly Rogers and Sarah Montanez, all seniors, represent the Mustangs.
Mercer Island's Herb Stimpson, who retired this season after 14 years at the helm of the Islanders, was named Coach of the Year.
Other first-team members include senior setter Jenny Hillman (Bellevue), senior middle blocker Shaleah Jones (Sammamish), and senior outside hitter Leah Sheen (Sammamish). Middle blocker Leslie Tuiasosopo of Woodinville was the only junior named to the first team.
Bellevue and Woodinville represented KingCo at the Class AAA state tournament.

Newport's Lee Evans, KingCo Conference's top qualifier to next spring's state tournament, heads KingCo's Crest Divison all-opponent golf team.
Redmond's Scott Richards, who led the Mustangs to the KingCo championship and later won the Sea-King District tournament, heads the all-Crown team.

SEAMOUNT GIRLS SOCCER
Forward Karen Hardy and defender Leah Cameron of Liberty were named to the first team in selections for the 1993 Seamount League girls soccer all-star team.
Lonie Chandler of Liberty shared Coach of the Year award with Mick Rider of Hazen.
Seamount League champion Hazen also placed two players on the first team, defenders Barb Miele and Farrah Wilcoxen.
Hazen and Liberty both reached the quarterfinals of the state playoffs.
