Doug FOX Corporate Parent Sold To Chicago Family
The Maryland-based parent of Doug Fox Travel is being sold to the Pritzker family of Chicago.
The Pritzker family, which formerly owned 15 percent of U.S. Travel, bought the remaining 85 percent owned by PS Group Inc. of San Diego, under a tentative agreement reached last week. PS will realize net proceeds of about $46 million from the sale.
A U.S. Travel spokeswoman said the sale would have no impact on staffing at Doug Fox's 42 offices in the Puget Sound area.
Doug Fox was purchased by U.S. Travel in 1986. The parent company has more than 578 reservations and ticketing centers in the U.S. and had gross sales of more than $1.2 billion in 1992.
