Live Vs. Love

MEDFORD, Ore. - Dianna Grey knew she was taking a chance to marry a man serving a life sentence for murder.

But "sometimes you have to go out on a limb for what you believe," Grey said yesterday.

Shawn Alexander Harris was convicted of aggravated murder last summer for raping and strangling a 14-year-old Medford girl in her home. He was sentenced to life without parole.

Grey had known Harris for years, but the couple got better acquainted when she began taking his young son to jail for visits before the trial.

Three weeks ago, they were married at the Oregon State Penitentiary. They originally had planned to wed after the trial, believing he would be acquitted.
