City Races In Snohomish County -- Granite Falls Mayor

Personal: 43, two children; secretary for Snohomish County Community Development, worked 12 years for Granite Falls School Disttrict, has been part of several political campaigns, was an active member of the Public School Employees Union.

Issues: Repairing, replacing and resurfacing sidewalks and streets. Planned growth, including the placement of Associated Sand & Gravel's pit just outside the city, and clean water issues. A club for the city's youth needs to be a priority.

Goals: Current town officials use their position for personal gain, that needs to be changed. Would represent the voice of the people and see that citizens are better informed about what's happening in town.

James Raymond #

Personal: 68, married, three children, retired truck driver, University of Washington graduate, served as town administrator and served briefly on City Council, appointed mayor two years ago.

Issues: Establishing a Boys' & Girls' Club for local children. Continue to pursue the water-quality issue and street-improvement plans.

Goals: Has already formed a parents group to help develop a club for children. Controlling growth to keep the city from becoming a metropolis. Continue to work with engineers on water and street-improvement plans.
