Key Tronic Buys Honeywell Computer-Keyboard Unit
SPOKANE - Key Tronic Corp., a maker of computer keyboards and other input devices, said it completed the acquisition of Honeywell Inc.'s keyboard division for about $30 million.
The acquisition makes Key Tronic the largest independent computer keyboard manufacturer in the world.
"We are confident that the advantages will be as great as expected," said Stanley Hiller Jr., chief executive officer of Key Tronic.
Michael Bonsignore, Honeywell chairman and chief executive officer, said that although the keyboard business was successful and profitable for Honeywell, the company determined that the division didn't fit with its goals.
