Man Convicted In Lacey Killing
OLYMPIA - A Seattle man has been convicted of first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of a Lacey restaurant owner.
Cong Danh Tran, 19, was convicted by a Thurston County Superior Court jury Thursday in the July 17, 1992, slaying of Kun To Ki, 40, during a robbery at the Tea Leaf II restaurant.
Tran also was convicted of three counts of felony assault. Ki's teenage son, Kil Bok Ki, was shot in the right leg and his wife and mother-in-law were assaulted.
Sentencing will be scheduled within two weeks.
Prosecutors said two men shot Kun To Ki but Tran fired the fatal shots. He was among four young Seattle men accused in the case - all with alleged gang connections in Seattle and other West Coast cities.
