Body Found In Puyallup Fred Meyer Parking Lot

PUYALLUP - The body of a woman was discovered in a Fred Meyer store parking lot early this morning.

Puyallup police are investigating the death as a homicide.

Details this morning were sketchy, but a police spokesman said the body was found about 2:40 a.m. by a parking-lot cleanup worker at the Fred Meyer store at 1100 N. Meridian St.

Police said the cause of death is undetermined. An autopsy was expected to be performed later today.

The identity of the victim was not released.

Police said they weren't sure whether the victim was killed at the scene or dumped there.

The crime scene was cleared by the time the store opened for business at 8 a.m.
