Dutch Center Transfers To Spu From Oregon

Eric van der Veen, a 6-foot-8 Dutch center from the University of Oregon, has signed a national letter of intent to transfer to Seattle Pacific University this fall. He is the fourth and final new recruit for Falcon basketball coach Ken Bone.

After playing a reserve role for the Ducks for two seasons, van der Veen sat out last season to preserve two years of eligibility. He attended Spokane's Mead High School as an exchange student in 1989-90, and averaged 17 points.
