Kiro, King Win Regional Emmys
"KIRO News at 5," when it was still in the box, was named outstanding daily news program of 1992 at the 30th annual Northwest Regional Emmy Awards, which were presented last night at a dinner at the Seattle Sheraton.
KIRO took 12 awards, but KING was the big winner with 19. KOMO won 16 Emmys, while KCTS was honored with six.
Dan Lewis of KOMO was named outstanding anchor, and the station's "people helper," Brook Stanford, was named outstanding specialty reporter.
KING's "Almost Live!" won three awards, for outstanding entertainment special, entertainment series and host/talent, Bob Nelson.
