Ferndale Man Drowns After Driving Off Dock

BELLINGHAM

A 33-year-old Ferndale man apparently drowned after driving his car off a ferry dock into Bellingham Bay.

The man, whose identity was not immediately released, left the Lummi casino early yesterday morning and asked the valet for his car, said Whatcom County sheriff's Sgt. Don McSwain.

The man drove away from the casino, onto the dock and into the water before several startled witnesses.
