Lake Stevens Man Dies In One-Car Accident
EDMONDS
One person was killed and four injured in separate car accidents in Snohomish County yesterday, the State Patrol said.
Chris Ljunghammar, 20, of Lake Stevens, died in a one-car accident near Edmonds. Police said the victim was a passenger in a vehicle heading west on 232nd Street Southwest, near 100th Avenue West. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a pole.
The driver and two other passengers were injured, including a 21-year-old Everett man, Eric Synsteby, who broke his back, police said. The three survivors were taken to Stevens Hospital in Edmonds.
In an accident southeast of Mill Creek, a 32-year-old Bothell man suffered severe head injuries and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Eltie Brown was heading west on 180th Street Southeast, near 35th Avenue Southeast, when his car left the road and rolled over, the state patrol said.
