Abner Thomas Appointed To Seatac Council

SEATAC

Abner Thomas, a former Seattle-Tacoma International Airport supervisor, has been appointed to the SeaTac City Council, replacing Julia Patterson, who was appointed to the state House of Representatives.

Thomas, 64, hails from Tyler, Texas, and served in the U.S. Army Military Police from 1947 to 1968. He then worked for the Port of Seattle Police and served as airport supervisor until 1989.

Since then, he's worked as assistant to the recruiting coordinator at the University of Washington Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

"If it's possible to better the living environment for citizens, that would be my priority," said Thomas, who is scheduled to be sworn in today.
