Mount Rainier Easily Wins Sea-King Swim Title

RENTON - Mount Rainier enhanced its state-championship aspirations yesterday by easily winning the team title at the Sea-King AA District boys swim meet at Hazen High School.

The Rams totaled 262 points - far ahead of runner-up Hazen with 180 points. Seattle Prep finished third with 141 and Ballard was fourth with 134.

Dillon Cady of Lakeside set two of the four meet records. He did the 200-yard individual medley in 1:58.67, and the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.21.

The other meet records were set by Mount Rainier relay teams (200 free and 400 free).

Seattle Prep's Mike McCloskey was named Sea-King coach of the year.

The state meet is Friday and Saturday at the King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way.

Sea-King AAA District

-- KIRKLAND - Bellevue's Cam Gravrock won both 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly as the Wolverines won the Sea-King AAA District boys championship at Juanita Pool last night.

Bellevue scored 285 points with relay wins in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle. Other first-place finishers for the Wolverines included Pete Cummings in 50 freestyle and Brian Hall in diving.

Ross Croasdell of Issaquah was a double winner with wins in the 100 and 200 freestyle. The Indians placed second with 193 points, followed by Mercer Island 148 and Newport 125.

The Class AAA state meet is Friday and Saturday at the King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way.

Northwest AA District -- ANACORTES - Sehome's Scott Milewski won his fourth straight Northwest AA District titles in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200 individual medley, and Bainbridge swam away with the team title yesterday.

Bainbridge had 253 points. Shorecrest was second with 215.

Milewski set two meet records yesterday.
