Gw, Pacific First Trade Branches

SEATTLE

Pacific First Bank is trading seven of its California branches for 13 Great Western Bank branches located in Washington.

The swap, pending regulatory approval, will likely wind up boosting the size of Washington Mutual Savings Bank. Washington Mutual announced plans about two weeks ago to buy Pacific First. That deal, too, is awaiting regulatory approval.

Pacific First will pick up $363 million in deposits at the branches it acquires. Great Western will pick up $426 million in deposits in the trade.
