Michael Jackson To Headline Super Bowl Halftime Show
NEW YORK - Michael Jackson will be a 1993 Super Bowl thriller during a 20-minute halftime performance at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
"Imagine what's going to happen when we give Michael Jackson 100 yards of gridiron as his stage," Scott Sanders, an executive with New York's Radio City Music Hall Productions, said.
The halftime show of the National Football League championship will feature Jackson's anthem "Heal the World," which promotes peace, racial harmony and hope for children.
"I can't think of a better way to spread the message of world peace than by working with the NFL and by being a part of Super Bowl 27," Jackson said.
The Super Bowl will be televised by NBC.
Jackson will donate all fees to his Heal the World Foundation. The NFL will donate $100,000 to the foundation.
