Nordstrom Gives Coffee Account To Starbucks
SEATTLE
Starbucks Coffee said it will become the exclusive coffee supplier for all the restaurants, catering and lunchrooms at 72 Nordstrom stores.
It will be Starbucks' largest restaurant account, but Laura Moix, Starbucks spokeswoman, wouldn't disclose the anticipated revenues or amount of coffee to be shipped to the apparel retailer.
Nordstrom formerly purchased its coffee from several vendors.
The coffee to be served at Nordstrom stores beginning Nov. 1 in the Washington division and at other stores by the end of 1993, is named Nordstrom Blend and was specially developed using Latin American and Indonesian coffees.
The selection followed a series of tastings of more than a dozen coffees, said Joleen Davis-Kosmach, corporate merchandise manager for Nordstrom's Restaurant Division.
Nordstrom operates 62 restaurants including Cafe Nordstorm, Garden Court, City Center Grill, Champagne Exchange, The Pub and employee lunchrooms, plus 48 espresso bars in 10 states.
