Washington State's Campbell, Sheehan Picked In Baseball Draft

Washington State's Beau Campbell and Chris Sheehan were selected in the 28th round of the amateur baseball draft this week. The pair was among four Cougar players selected.

Campbell, a catcher from Renton's Lindbergh High School, was picked by Detroit; Sheehan, a pitcher from Seattle's Blanchet High, was taken by the Kansas City Royals. Other WSU players selected were Eric Wolf of Wenatchee (Colorado, 19th) and Wayne Lindmann of Longview's R.A. Long (Chicago White Sox, 21st).

Campbell batted .367 with 20 home runs and 72 runs batted in for WSU this past season.

Other state players picked: Lincoln of Tacoma's Lawyer Milloy (Cleveland), Mount Tahoma's Paul Vindivich (Kansas City, 18th), Walla Walla Community College's Justin Atchley (Atlanta, sixth), former Seattle Prep pitcher Pat Holland (Milwaukee, ninth) and Redmond's Christian Shewey (Seattle, 37th).
